Gadar 2 Box Office

Gadar 2’s 10th-day box office earnings are impressive as Sunny Deol’s movie surpasses Pathaan during its second weekend, and it’s on track to exceed the Rs 400 crore milestone.”

The buzz surrounding Gadar 2 remains as strong as ever. After a record-breaking collection of 31.07 crore rupees on its second Saturday, the film added 38.90 crore rupees to its Indian box office earnings on Sunday, August 20. Starring Sunny Deol and Ameesha Patel, this movie is rewriting box office records at an astonishing pace, accumulating a staggering total of 375.10 crore rupees and is on track to surpass the 400 crore rupee mark soon.

Despite facing competition from Rajinikanth’s Jailer and Akshay Kumar’s OMG 2 since its release, Gadar 2 continues to attract moviegoers, evident from its impressive 40 crore rupee opening day collection. The film’s strong box office performance has remained consistent over the weeks. However, it’s gearing up for another challenge as Ayushmann Khurrana and Ananya Panday’s Dream Girl 2 is scheduled for release on Friday, August 25.

Gadar 2 not only outperformed Salman Khan’s Bajrangi Bhaijaan (320 crore rupees) but also surpassed the earnings of Tiger Zinda Hai (339 crore rupees), PK (340 crore rupees), and Sanju (342 crore rupees), making it the fifth highest-grossing Hindi movie ever at the domestic box office. Emerging as the Hindi film industry’s biggest hit after Shah Rukh Khan’s Pathaan in the post-pandemic era, Gadar 2 has firmly established itself as a blockbuster.

Despite receiving mixed reviews, Gadar 2 continues to rake in substantial earnings. Critic Shubhra Gupta of The Indian Express gave the film a rating of 1.5 stars and commented, “Even when it was first released 22 years ago, ‘Gadar’ was known for being excessively loud and melodramatic, embodying the patriotism-driven filmmaking style that director Anil Sharma was known for, a style that was already going out of fashion. This new version reminds us of the loudness, sentimentality, and over-the-top dialogues that new Bollywood had been moving away from, which we had hoped were a thing of the past.
